brief recap and big news.

Friday night I braved the rain to meet my friend for Warhammer in his office. I trounced him (a nice change), and got free pad thai and cider for my effort. Saturday was spent doing figure repair, movement tray building , and rearranging my display shelf to fit more stuff (the gamer's equivalent of "re-arranging my sock drawer"). Took a bit of a downward spiral on my mood, managed to create a decent mix CD (which a good friend got, so no worries there), and had a decent time at the party. It took a lot of effort though.
Sunday was much sunnier, inside and out, and our DND game was filled with investigation and mystery, a highly satisfying session. I picked up some food, and cleaned up. Despite being a bachelor, I'm getting better at keeping a clean house.
The big news today revolves around work: My review was a 4/5, and I got a 5% raise! I was only expecting 3, and prepared to get nothing at all. Our company isn't doing to well right now, but I've already been told that our department is as small as it can get. We are actually hiring in some areas, to squeeze more "efficiency out of the company", but I've been assured that my job is fine. My raise combines merit pay, and equity to bring my income up with Shannon's. Both of us have been here a long time, and both of us can do our work equally. Now, our pay will be equal as well. We have a number of big projects coming up this year, which will look very nice on my resume, and give me new things to learn.
Now THAT is a slice of fried gold!
