The objective was taken, but I don't know how long it will be held. Fatigue and anger took their toll, and some wounds were dealt by friendly fire. I'm lying in the medical tent now. The doc says he's seen a lot worse and I should consider myself lucky. I get a night of good rest before they turn me out in the morning. I can smell the food in the next room, hear the laughter of my mates while they eat and swap stories. In a while I'll join them.
The battle begins again tomorrow (but the war metaphors will stop).

If I raise my head I'll be barraged by the tons of junk I've managed to accumulate in the 9 months that I have lived here and now must pack. But I'm hoping for the best, there's an armistace scheduled for friday :)
