Where's my pith helmet?

Today's horoscope:

When I was a weirdo attending Duke University some years ago, I wasn't half as freaky as my friend Alex. At the tender age of 21 he had already forged himself into a mythic figure of Kerouac-ian proportions. His writing was breathtakingly original. As yearbook editor, he produced a bizarrely entertaining tome that mimicked the style of outlaw author William S. Burroughs. We all expected that when Alex left the ivory tower he'd evolve into a towering figure on the national literary scene. Alas, an old classmate reports that he is now an executive at a top ad agency, churning out inflammatory copy to sell cars and perfume. I offer him up as your reverse role model, Scorpio. The stars are urging you to move in a direction exactly opposite to his. With fierce authenticity, head towards the land of more integrity and wilder soul.

You too?

I'm right on the cusp of Libra and Scorpio, which is what I attribute most of the craziness in my life too. :)

October 23. Some list me as a Leo, some list me as a Scorpio (like the freewill one does, which I like the best).

Bah!
Doom says selling out is good.
Doom says selling out gives you the money with which to buy starving artistes at low low discount prices.
Doom says astrology is a plot by Richards to control your mind.
Doom wishes he thought of it first.

As a friend of mine pointed out, cashing in is different from selling out. I'll keep the wilder soul w/out losing my income.

And doesnt' Doom employ sorcery as well as science?

I remember a really cool graphic novel: Dr. Strange and Dr. Doom. There was a battle to see who was the best sorcerer, and the winner had to grant a favor to the runner up. Strange won, and Doom asked his help to resuce his mother's soul from Hell.
