stumbling into February
Feb. 1st, 2012 11:25 amMost of last week was a mentally gray day at best. A few random glimpses at Temple turned the night quickly down hill, and the dapper clothing I wore felt more confining than enabling. I was far from the only well-dressed man there that night. The spinner community remains a mine field to be negotiated with caution. Friday was time for date #2, which went as well as the first time, perhaps a little better. There were concerns about expectations, which I tried to reconcile, but as of today I still haven't heard back from that. She is a busy person, so I will bide my time.
Saturday I traveled up to Londonderry for a tournament to test out my list for TempleCon last weekend. 1-2 for the day, though the last game was hard fought to overcome a big handicap on the first turn. My plans for the CD Mix disk fell through, and though I tried to fortify myself with sushi, I would have been better served staying home. Sunday Tricia and I watched an impressive amount of Torchwood, finishing off the 2nd season and beginning Children of Earth.
If last week was grey, Monday and Tuesday were in the black. The Mage game was almost a disaster, but in the end I think it turned into an alternatingly scary and funny session. Next week should be very interesting. I asked my roommate to put in some good word with the Universe for me. "What do you want, specifically?" she asked. A few moments later I replied: "Resolve."
Today we're already seeing some progress on that front. Maybe it just the french vanilla tea. Maybe it's the Universe pushing some resolve through the tea. That's how the universe works sometimes. A simple cup of tea.
