Friday night I picked up some components for my new media server: HMDI converter and cable, wireless card, and wireless keyboard and mouse. The USB adapter was missing, so I'll be taking it back. Strictly speaking I don't think they will be necessary right now, so I'll return them. Getting a more powerful video card will probably take priority, and even that can wait right now. I grabbed dinner with Cris at Hana, where we determined that I wouldn't need to get Sage software for my computer. Hana continues to delight me, and getting free ice cream for desert keeps the love flowing! I tested the setup at home, and it is running smoothly.
Saturday I went to a small tournament in Central Square. I expected to get a 1-1-1 record, and just wanted to have a good sports score. In the end, I got smashed in all my games, but got the maximum sports score and won Best Painted and Player's Choice awards. That won me a cool $130, and I ended up in 4th place out of 10. That took the sting out of losing, let me tell you ;) I picked up some cookies and cider and walked down the street on that warmish winter evening. The party was a blast, complete with head scratches and sweet cookies and snogging. I joined the general exodus around one thirty, for a long night's sleep.
Sunday dawned even warmer, a preview of spring with a blistering 55 degree day. Laundry and shopping DIDN'T happen, but I made it to our club gaming day. It was nice getting our club together for some fun games, despite once again suffering a vicious trouncing. I left before getting a second game and headed to DND for our continuing murder mystery. Sadly, we are not well equipped as a group to solve murder mysteries. Miss Marple made it look so easy! I ended the night by cleaning and organizing the office, and then found I couldn't get to sleep. I tossed and turned until 2:30, woke up briefly at 6:10, and woke fully when the alarm went off.
The wind was warm and blustery, whipping lots of papers down the street from ill placed recycling bins. The mountain of snow that lined our drive way is reduced to a few inch high islands. My grill is almost completely uncovered, and I think I'll test it out this weekend. Here's to an early and boutiful spring!
