I started the weekend off learning that my drum kit died. This is the second kit that we (mostly my roommate) has worn through. Clearly these kits are not tested to handle the kind of Rock that we can put out (right, KG? right!) My roommate and I got our Rock on at the House of Hsieh before Xmortis on Friday. Alas, the euphoria of the pre-game didn't last through the night. I'm afraid it was One of Those Nights. I put up a brave fight to keep things social and light, but good did not triumph over evil continued to lurk and sulk about most of the day Saturday, until I roused myself to hunt for a new drum kit. Best Buy and Newbury Comics let me down. I played a game of Warhammer at Pandamonium, which stiffened my resolve not to play in the store again. By this point, I decided enough was enough. Amazon.com provided me with a new drum kit, microphone, and controller (my current one died a sticky death from something spilled on it.) I watched the Book of Eli over a good sushi dinner, and called it an early night.

Sunday I had to improvise for my DND game, as a setup for a future encounter was pushed to the foreground! The players displayed a level of teamwork and acumen that's... rare for us, and while the fight dragged on for a while, it was entertaining. Next session will proceed back on track. There was laundry and groceries and cleaning, enough that I felt the weekend wasn't a total waste.

Sunday and Monday nights both left me short on sleep, again. Mathew and I did Hot Pot on the cheap, followed by a lot of Rock Band. I do like making him suffer through the Bon Jovi songs.
A new drum kit should arrive this week, and another microphone and controller the next week. I was a bit cocky to think I was making tons of progress with my therapy, but at least I tried to correct my download slide. More about that later.
