The events of the past few days are a good example of how my entire life has changed in the past year. Growth, transformation, an ongoing process that never really ends. I've seen some deep seated reprogramming happen, met wonderful new people, had my stumbles and falls and false starts. I've had blissful moment of pure happiness, and more often than I'd expect. One of the best parts of this year was taking the time to get to know people better. Sharing stories about gaming and music and politics over a pint, sitting in the dim light watching a thriller with the smell of wine and smoke in the air, shared dreams and fears and strengths. A meeting of the old and the new as a couple prepares for a huge change in their life. Faces that I've seen only briefly, seeing new sides to familiar faces, and relaxing! Sitting and listening quietly not because I fear to speak, but because I want to listen. Speaking naturally, smiling to myself over a glass of blueberry wine.
And honestly? I'm filled with joy today. I've received a letter from a user's manager, congratulating me on going above and beyond the call of duty. I've had well wishes from all over the map. And I have an action packed evening ahead of me.
I'm glowing again. You just might need to turn down the brightness of your monitor.

In my personal mythology, it signals positive change and good fortune for the coming year if it snows on your birthday.
So, happy birthday!

Re: Happy Birthday!
Date: 2002-10-23 12:15 pm (UTC)One of the really keen points of that recently detonated year was meeting a certain Goth geek at Convergence, who was one of the highlights of the entire trip.
Now who could that be? ;)
*hugs*
Thanks a ton!
