So, in case you have the wrong idea about my parents, I found this in my mailbox from my Mom today.

I wanted to respond to your site but couldn't see any place to click on to do that. How do you get comments? How to people respond?
My one and only dear, dear Chris,
You are the only son I want...I love you as you are. There are wonderful, very special moments and memories... There have been sad times as well, but that is life and try as we may to figure out why, sometimes we don't see why. Life is what it is. We move on. Don't let bad times drag you down. There is always tomorrow. It may be good. It may be a struggle, but always hope. Know that you are loved. Know that you are so, so capable in whatever you do. Maybe your friends don't really know you. Maybe your friends are genuinely concerned. I'm sure that's what it is. Maybe there's somebody out there for you, but maybe not. If that's the case, move on. Get involved in what makes you happy. Have you ever thought of volunteering once a week or every two? Is there a group of people you could hook up with where you could share your talents, a community organization? Where you play games, they collected canned goods to participate in a tournament. What about doing something like that? Help out those less fortunate. Who knows, you might even meet someone that way.
I found your album I made for you upon graduation. The pages are falling from the bindings. Should I re-do it or do you want it as is? It's a wonderful keepsake, a collection of memories from your friends and teachers and family. On the cork board in front of my desk at home, I have index cards marking all the shows you were in at Penn State: Edwin Drood, Little Shop of Horrors (which Northeastern did this year), Man of La Mancha, Quilt(my favorite), etc. I have a picture of Dad and I in Boston in front of a lighthouse in Maine and you at Marlene's this year at Christmas. I remember our delicious Spanish meal and trip to the Museum of Boston.
I think about all this from time to time and so many more special memories. Every time I go to Mass and communion I always think of you and pray for you. I thank God for the gift of you truly. I am happy whenever you are happy and am sad when you are upset for any reason. But I always want to be there for you. I know I can't fix anything for you now, but you can blow off steam to me if you want.
Let me know when you make contact with someone. I thought I heard you say there was someone you could talk to. A friend? a coworker? How is Sarah when things go badly for you? Is she a good listener? Sometimes house mates can be irritating. Sometimes it's good to have someone there.
Call or email me when you can.
Always know I love you,
Mom
