Mom's reply

So, in case you have the wrong idea about my parents, I found this in my mailbox from my Mom today.

I wanted to respond to your site but couldn't see any place to click on to do that. How do you get comments? How to people respond?
My one and only dear, dear Chris,
You are the only son I want...I love you as you are. There are wonderful, very special moments and memories... There have been sad times as well, but that is life and try as we may to figure out why, sometimes we don't see why. Life is what it is. We move on. Don't let bad times drag you down. There is always tomorrow. It may be good. It may be a struggle, but always hope. Know that you are loved. Know that you are so, so capable in whatever you do. Maybe your friends don't really know you. Maybe your friends are genuinely concerned. I'm sure that's what it is. Maybe there's somebody out there for you, but maybe not. If that's the case, move on. Get involved in what makes you happy. Have you ever thought of volunteering once a week or every two? Is there a group of people you could hook up with where you could share your talents, a community organization? Where you play games, they collected canned goods to participate in a tournament. What about doing something like that? Help out those less fortunate. Who knows, you might even meet someone that way.
I found your album I made for you upon graduation. The pages are falling from the bindings. Should I re-do it or do you want it as is? It's a wonderful keepsake, a collection of memories from your friends and teachers and family. On the cork board in front of my desk at home, I have index cards marking all the shows you were in at Penn State: Edwin Drood, Little Shop of Horrors (which Northeastern did this year), Man of La Mancha, Quilt(my favorite), etc. I have a picture of Dad and I in Boston in front of a lighthouse in Maine and you at Marlene's this year at Christmas. I remember our delicious Spanish meal and trip to the Museum of Boston.
I think about all this from time to time and so many more special memories. Every time I go to Mass and communion I always think of you and pray for you. I thank God for the gift of you truly. I am happy whenever you are happy and am sad when you are upset for any reason. But I always want to be there for you. I know I can't fix anything for you now, but you can blow off steam to me if you want.
Let me know when you make contact with someone. I thought I heard you say there was someone you could talk to. A friend? a coworker? How is Sarah when things go badly for you? Is she a good listener? Sometimes house mates can be irritating. Sometimes it's good to have someone there.
Call or email me when you can.
Always know I love you,
Mom

Cause the text was the same color as my background! It's readable now.

You had me worried, dude. :|

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Meh, I'm too Catholic to do anything that drastic. Besides, it would crush my parents.

[identity profile] atalanta.livejournal.com 2009-03-28 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
yes, it sounded very serious (your post).

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Oh you know me. Master of drunken LJ posting (though I haven't drunk posted in quite sometime. Now I just sing along with sappy videos on YouTube. It's an improvement!

Yeah I was all about to text/call you but A. beat me to it with her email.

I did reason that if you made a post at 2am - and you were still alive...10am was not the best time to call.

[identity profile] aidenraine.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Glad you're okay-ish :

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Okayish sums it up. I'm here.

[identity profile] samfromsa.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
What did i miss?

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Check a few entries back, you'll catch it.

[identity profile] anamchara.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
I was worried too, so thanks for sharing this. *hugs*

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
You're welcome. More posts to come!

*loves and respects me some Chris*

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
My computer should automatically disconnect from the Internet between midnight and six am. That would fix issues like this.

[identity profile] shnells.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
that was a very nice email your mum wrote. i'm sorry, i'm just catching up now. don't know what happened. i'm sorry if i don't call you more but just know that it's equal opportunity. i'm a flake about calling anyone. you are more than welcome to call me if you need someone to talk to. i will try to be better about being a friend to you.

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't think what I wrote was any worse than stuff I've done in the past, but something must have stood out. Thanks for the kind words.

[identity profile] julishka.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
i think it was more the "goodbye" part that startled me. i'm glad you're ok, and i'm also glad your mom wrote that letter. it's pretty damn awesome if you ask me. don't think i'd ever get one so great from my dad, fwiw.

we all react because we care. please know that! *hug*

i saw your late night post this morning and was very very concerned & about to shoot off an email to check up on ya, but then saw the follow up post and was happy to know things were [relatively speaking] not as dire as suspected.

Yeah, I guess I can see how that would have been the worrying part. My mom's an angel, for sure. Thank you for the kind words, I think I forget that people care a lot.

Hey, I missed all the initial hubbub cause of the show, but just wanted to say love you and miss you.

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you. I hope the show was spectacular. Keep on performing and living! I'll be here, watching.

[identity profile] jhenaphere.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 11:06 am (UTC)(link)

I think you must have a pretty strong relationship with your mom if you let her read your LJ posts - ALL of your LJ posts. That was a nice letter she wrote back to you.

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know that she reads all of them, but I want her to keep in touch with my life. It's a good thing that she does! Thank you for your kind words.

I bugged out for a bit until I saw this post, since I realized I don't have any of your current contact info. Glad it was just drunken LJ.

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
I'll update you with my contact information tomorrow. You know me, this is the kind of idiocy I do. At least it's been awhile since my last drunk post; it should be a long time before it happens again.

Thank you for writing.

[identity profile] fire-faery.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a very thoughtful letter that your mother wrote. Hope things are okay where you are because I care. :-)

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Things are alright. Hopefully it will get better in a few days. Thank you for asking.

[identity profile] brigid.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
if i had your number i would have called when i saw that post.i didn't know who to call, but i was worried, which is why you got the email from me instead.

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
My phone was probably off at that point (which would have made people even more nervous, I'm sure). Thanks for the concern, I'll be over here feeling really embarassed for the next week or so.

[identity profile] spitcurl.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
I backtracked to read the weekends' entries, but I'm still confused.

Hope you are ok.

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
I was just being a drunked idiot, and someone got really concerned and called the police. I spent the better part of Saturday at the hospital, where I was released on my own and took the T home. I've been keeping a low profile since then.

I'm STILL tired. More sleep will help. Thank you for checking in.

ack. rest more then.

[identity profile] clayrobeson.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Come visit. :)

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
I'll start looking at fares!

[identity profile] heatray.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Virgin America and JetBlue both have really (well, compared to usual) cheap tickets right now. I found a round trip flight for $250 a couple weeks ago. You might have to fly on weird days, but it can save you hundreds of dollars.

[identity profile] heatray.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Awwwww.

The thought about finding a volunteer project is a pretty good one. Service is a pretty solid way of reminding oneself of one's worth. Also, hippy chicks! They may smell weird, but they're usually stacked!
