First PT session is promising. I have more mobility in my neck, and she was able to work on the direct location this time. There was some swelling, which she brought down with ice. The pain lessened at first, and for a while after treatment, but got worse during the day. I took 1 vicodin at work, and 1 before leaving. That seems like bad news but let's look at the compounding factors:

A very stressful day at work. Our new web services are causing more harm than good.
Lack of ice. I applied some ice when I got home and it did help with the pain.
Lack of sleep. Five hours is not enough by any standard.
Lack of water. Now that I think of it, I have 1/3 of what I should have today.

The other good news: I can resume 90% of my gym routine, as long as I avoid a few certain maneuvers. As the pounds have been starting to pile on, this is GREAT news.

So, before I run off to the gym. As long as I have ice during the day and keep hydrated, that should help reduce the pain. More sleep will make things less irritating. More exercise will make me feel fit and fabulous. There are some supplements that can help with my mood and joint issues, which couldn't hurt right now. It's pricey, but I think it will be worth it. This is putting my gaming and home theater upgrades on hold for a bit, but health comes first.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the gym.

PS - New haircut, new icon!

Alas, much regression was had on the gym front.
Must remember: slow steps, make up the lost ground slowly, you're still injured.

You know, I think the last time I saw you, you had this kind of curly Flock of Seagulls meets Petshop Boys cut going on. Short looks good on you, sir.

Rock on.

I may play around with the curls more in the winter. I did like them, but I started having some problems with it in the past few months.

I should dig up some old photos...

That's a great picture of you! I (obviously) like the haircut.

I have one of Pavel's books called SuperJoints. It has a number of great (non-kettlebell) exercises that are PT-oriented (ie. appropriate for injury recovery). I haven't touched it in ages, so if you'd like it, just let me know.

I'd be glad to take a look at the book sometime. Thanks for the kind words!
