Bandwagon

Every so often, I jump on the meme bandwagon.  Today I will make it a goal to answer all of the memory/envy memes that I see on my friend's list.  Remembering interesting things about people is always a fun thing to do, and it's surprising what your can dredge up from the back corners of your mind.  I'm not crazy about the envy question ("It seems that envy is my sin..."), so I'm rephrasing it in the context of "This is something you do that I think is very cool."  I don't think that the Powers That Meme will mind.

I'm not exactly performing the same sentences, but if you have any memories you'd like to remind me of, or want to tell me about the neat things I do, feel free!

Tuesday I watched Grindhouse with Mathew.  Planet Terror was delighfully awful, and I enjoyed seeing several of the return color characters that often are found in Rodriguez/Tarantino films.  I didn't enjoy "Death Proof" as much.  It was a little too pleased with itself and talky, where "Planet Terror" knew it was tongue-in-cheek.  That being said, it was one of the more exciting car chases that I've seen in a film in a while.  Plus, Kurt Russell is always fun to watch.  I also made it back to the gym after a slight absence.  I couldn't finish a lot of the sets, but at least it means I'm pushing myself to collapse.

Tonight, I begin the quest for a fedora.

I have a lot of memories of hanging out at Irish bars, and also watching you paint your Warhammer minis was fascinating. I find your ability to focus and immerse yourself in the task of creating the minis to be pretty cool.

oh, and also, Dren reuniting with his insane wife and using his one wish to tie up those loose ends is definitely one of my favorite RPG memories.

Being passionate about something is always pretty cool. Even if it's miniatures! ;)

Good ol' Dren. That was one of my favorite characters, too.

I agree that I don't like the word envy. From time to time, I have felt it but generally I am working towards a place where I do not feel envy, but rather admiration.

That whole last week of ManRay made for some very good memories... and a few forgotten ones!

Thank you. I so need to shake off the rust and start telling more stories.

I remember you talking about what you were going to do for the Carnivale theme at ManRay: something about cartoonish, round dumbells, curled mustaches and the quote "I say, Fineas...."

I was so mad I couldn't find those dumbells. or the moustache!

Here's a memory for you. "What part of Mass. Ave are you at again?" Also, helping transform my night after my car was towed.

*ahem*
The quote is "You're WHERE?!"
And may there be more "rockstar weekends" in our future :)

No one commented on the fedora.. I have to ask: why are you in need of a fedora?

There is monthy Goth event called Xmortis in Boston, and the theme for this month is noir. I wanted a fedora so I co go as a gumshoe.

I found my fedora!

Ok, I thought it was something maybe a bit more kinky or out-there than that. ;P
