On the way home last night, I walked up all the steps in Porter Sq station  and crossed the street to the Cambridge Music Shop, where I picked up a box fo ten reeds and a Sonata for piano and saxophone.  Now there is nothing standing between me and playing my saxophone again after a dozen years or so.

Unless the saxophone doesn't work.

oooh! They sell sheet music?

I've been thinking about picking my flute back up again after a similar hiatus.

They certainly do! They have an upstairs section of the store which is just sheet music. Look for the store with the big cow in the window, across from the Porter Sq. Mall. (near Christopher's)

Cool!
I've been pondering taking up the French horn again. But I was never all that great, and I think it would be pretty rough on my TMJ. Still .... very temptingg, especially since you can now get a horn on Amazon for a reasonable price...

Wow, the French horn is a difficult instrument to play. I only knew one player in high school who "played" it. Making any kind of sound come out of it at all is a major accomplishment.

cool. i played the trumpet (poorly) for about 10 years. bridget can attest to my utter lack of skills. i last tried a couple years ago and it really wasn't pretty. good luck!

hmmm perhaps we can pull together a SG marching band! i can imagine some pretty awesome cover songs. :)

You and others should try and find a venue for this.
I'm sure it would draw a good crowd.
