jchrisobrien: (big trouble!)

Last Friday was about as ideal a club night as you could ask for.

Saturday I delivered a vicious stomping agaisnt one of our A-list Warhammer players, and then recieved a vicious stomping from another A-lister.  Instant karma indeed.  I still count myself the big winner because I spent half the day in an air conditioned store.  Everything takes about three times as long to do when the weather creeps above 80 degrees with high humidity.  It takes extra effort to push through that hot, swampy air.  Then you have to rest a bit to recover your strenght.  Motivation, drive, it all gets sucked away by some tropical vampire, but it doesn't leave any marks.  Sneaky beast.  Speaking of beasts, I got to hang out with two thirds of thelittlebeast this weekend, one for pre-clubbing drinks, another at a birthday party.  I brewed up a batch of white sangria which I think worked well to battle the heat of the weekend.  We spent some time hanging out after the party, but the alcohol and the heat dragged me to a quick and swety sleep.  Going to a hotel party is cool, but falling asleep as you get there is not.

Sunday I should have cleaned, and upgraded my computer.  Instead I watched Collateral, and later some Buffy with Tegin.  I've almost got her through the 6th season.  Will we finish season 7 before she leaves?  Stay tuned to this journal to find out!

Man, this is boring me and I lived it.  There's not much else to say Sunday or Monday other than it's very hot (but the heat will soon be breaking) sleeping has been for crap (which yields very unpleasant days), and Collateral is a much better movie than I expected.  You should see it.

the heat made it easy to forget... but yeah, it was a nice weekend.
You guys should see Collateral, since Michael Mann directed it. It's definitely got that Miami Vice vibe.

I think we did.
I had some issues with it, but all in all found it to be fairly enjoyable.
It's funny the closer to 'real life' a movie is the harder I have suspending disbelief.

once you accept vampires and lightsabers, it's easy to let the little things go!

I saw it with my parents and liked it a lot, and then I saw it with mrzero and didn't like it as much. 2 viewings in 1 month were definitely too much though.

heh. I watched it twice in two days! Once was with the commentary track. I though it was an interesting idea having a commentary as a subtitle, though it would be confusing if you hadn't see the movie first.

There's nothing like tricking your room mates into a Buffy marathon :)

I'd like to say that I tricked her, but she was a willing participant. I think we started her off on season 1, and we've worked our way through almost the entirety of the series by now. We're just starting the "Dark Willow" episodes.

And, you still need to experience Firefly.
