I'm bagging up a laptop, and I hear someone say "Skinny Puppy" behind me. I turn and it's our Oracle admin. A very normal looking woman. She noticed the shirt I was wearing. "Memories," she said in a sing song voice.
"Good ones?" I asked.
"Oh, yes. Good ones."

One of the mail admis listens to New Order and Midnight Oil during the day.
The network admin saw my Henry's Dream album and nodded in approval. He also used to listen to Front 242 back in the day.

All of them are not Goth looking in the slightest.

People do surprise you.

You know, I often have the opposite surprise - I'll meet someone at a goth club and find out they're not a total fake and/or lame-o, or they don't have an ego the size of Mars with zippo to back it up. To me, that's one of the best surprises of all!

Well, I used to...

Although, I honestly don't think I'll be going back for a long time now for a very valid reason. Friends who went to Miss Gothic Mass said that the stench is becoming unbearable with the no smoking ban. And well, they stank enough before, and I don't want to smell them without the mask of 5,000 ciggies.

It's just... disturbing.

I think those little Christmas tree air fresheners need to become part of the permanent decor...

Or have the management go out to the goth clubs in LA - they've been no smoking for ages, and remarkably, not a one that I've been into stink. Hell, even Avalon doesn't stink when it's packed to the gills!

You know, I never noticed the smell when I was at ManRay or Ceremony. It's very possible that I've become accustomed to it though. I haven't been to the clubs in 3 weeks, so I'll see if I pick up on it this time around.

They should get little coffin and skull air fresheners for the place. I wonder if people complain about the smell on other nights?

I'll be Avalon has better air circulation than ManRay does. Now if they only played decent music...
