I helped out our new Oracle admin by downloading some new drivers for her laptop, to correct a blurry screen issue.
While doing so, I noticed she was running AIM. (This was the program that was blocked at our company).
I asked her if I could look at her connection settings.
Thanks to her, I am now able to log on to AIM again. Feel free to ring me, for I will surely be ringing you!

Here's the difference. I was using Trillian. I tried changing the port settings for AOL to 80. It said it connected, but I couldn't see you (or anyone). When I actually downloaded the AIM client, I tried port 23, and it worked. Presumedly, 80 would have worked too.

It's not that I didn't listen to you, I just used the wrong tools.
