Waiting on hold with Dell Tech Support is a great time to update your journal.
This weekend was given over unabashedly to gaming. I hung out at Danger Planet to finish off my League games and play my friend Mvoid. Ours was the best match of the day. My other game was pretty much lost by the third turn, but I stuck it out to cause as much carnage as possible. I arrived home Saturday night to find a message on my answering machine. I had an idea something was going on that night, but I couldn't figure it out. By the time I made it home I was pretty wiped out, and it was late. But it was nice that they called. Perhaps the caller will come to our cookout, but more details on that later.
(damn, I remember this classical piece, we played it in orchestra one year. It's named after a river in Eastern Europe, but I don't remember it. No, not the Danube, something else. BLAST!)
Sunday I picked up some painting supplies, lost my last league game, and returned to base the rest of the army. I also began devouring an excellent book called Box Office Poison that my roommate owns. I was very psyched when Cris said he'd move in, both because having a friend move in is vastly superior to a random person from the world, and because he is one of the radder people I know. Sometimes you can meet people who have many interests in common, but the universe conspires to keep you apart. People have busy lives, and lots of friends, and it's tough to make time to see people. Living with someone alleviates a lot of that burden. So now after six years plus of living in Boston, I'll get a chance to know him better.
And read his comic books.
I'm still on hold with Dell, by the way.

Date: 2003-08-26 09:39 am (UTC)I hear there's a new rule saying that if you fleet of foot, then assault, you don't get the extra attack for assaulting. That would really suck.
Wraiths will really do a number on me, that's for sure.

Date: 2003-08-26 09:49 am (UTC)the wraiths will hopefully balance out my army a bit... especially since i face roks and tyranids as often as i face marines. also i was looking for an excuse to reduce the cost of the pariahs... 360 points in one squad was kinda painful..
