My car has been rescued

I dropped off some money in the bank, and then took it out again to pay for the tow.
I fired off an e-mail to the folks at Ritual Design for the last of my reimbursement.
They responded today, after the paypal fee it exactly covers the cost of the tow. Score.

Within 3-4 days time, I will be back where I was. Which isn't very good.

I called the student loan office, they are sending me a deferment form so I don't have to pay them for a little bit.
I will be selling at least one more Warhammer army.

I am also going to try to enjoy my time up here over the next month and a half, in case I end up moving away.

So, a question for my readers: What other jobs should I be applying for, i.e., what else could you see me doing and doing well? Besides help desk, or painting miniatures.

If you don't mind answering phones and data entry, wearing a dress shirt and slacks, you can get temporary employment anywhere for $10/hour. (Transcription is more but you'll wear out your hands.) It takes the edge off unemployment. That's what I'm doing. It gets me out of the house.

You can get full time work in retail or food service, but it won't pay as well, and you'll probably make too much to collect unemployment.

Working your way up to a decently paying management position is tough. Starting your own business is hell. I'm not sure I'm ready for it yet.

How's your Spanish? There are always jobs for the bilingual.

My Spanish is hella rusty. In theory I could hone it, but I don't know how quickly I could get it up tofluent speed.

Can you do temp work and not have it cut into your unemployment benefits?

I will also be starting to pimp out my painting skills. Or trying to.

Spanish - You could fake it and then hone on the job. No, really. Unless they make you take a proficiency exam.

Temping - You can make up to a certain percentage of your original salary before the DET starts deducting from your unemployment check. I bet you could make an extra $2-300 a week on top of your current check. You have to report the income to the DET, of course, and they would be able to tell you how much you can make.

The trick is to not tell the temping agencies that you're on unemployment. Just tell them you're looking for a real job, and in the meantime, you're interested in X number of hours in a temp position.

You *pimp* somebody else, you *whore* yourself. ;)
