I should probably see it again too.
But,
It was an interesting ending, a real twist.
I didn't expect the whole many slayer part.
I didn't expect Spike to die either.
There were a lot of homages to older episodes in it.
Spike actually died a very noble death, he proved himself in the end, even though I didn't like the Buffy/Spike relationship.
In a sense they really left things open for guest spots on Angel...

I was glad that they didn't kill everyone, just because the show was ending. They get to live their lives now, as hip deep in danger as they want to be. They can all take a break and live for themselves now. There are many Slayers, all over the world. Joss's show was all about breaking the rules and stereotypes, and in the end he broke the rules of his own show. Very fitting.

yeah, the whole everyones a slayer thing kinda blew my mind..that was a really good plan...and im glad that caleb or whatever his name was bit it in the very beginning,
and when Buffy went down I thought that was just it and I got mad, so thats where the episode lost me...now knowing what I know, I'm going to watch it again in a little while and see..

Spike and Anya BOTH died very noble deaths...Anya died protecting poor weenie Andrew(i loved the bunny thing...anya was great)...and Spike (so bravely and willingly) went saving the world, and i think spike had proven himself many times over in past eps...they didnt have to show my spike turning to dust tho...i think thats another thing that made me dislike this one lol
its just sad that Buffy didn't mean it when she said she loved Spike. The usual sparks between her and Angel just were not there tonight.

i cant believe that i recorded the last new grrr..aarg, forever...
it'll hit me in a little while

I thought you meant that FAith would die, then Kennedy would be called, then she would die, and another potential would be called, then another would die, etc.

I didn't think you meant they would all be called at once!

Yeah, I meant it exactly the way it happened, although I didn't think about how it might come about. I actually thought it wouldn't be intentional on the Scoobies' part, but I think it's cooler the way it played out.

I also thought that Buffy would end up being de-slayered so she could have a normal life, and while the real ending was different (and again, I think better), it was similar in spirit.

You guessed a similar thing, or you were also in awe of Liza's plot-seeing ability?

I said "Liza totally called this," out loud, in an empty room.

One of my favorite moments was when Willow said, after collapsing, "that was nifty!" in such a classic Willow way. Such a small exclaimation signaled so much healing and rightness within her :-)

I really wish it had been a two-hour finale.

Also I wonder if all the talk about James Marsters being signed on to Angel was just a passel of lies, and if not, how he gets to come back. And if he does, will the show Angel become one big brooding vampire catfight? And if so, one can only follow Buffy's line of thinking and hope for oil ;-)

I can say that I felt very let down with the final episode last night. But the more I think it over, the more I feel like it was well thought out and appropriate. The episode was all about Buffy which is disappointing to everyone who likes the scoobies better than the lead.

In the end, Buffy gets what she has always wanted. To be like everyone else. To be rid of the calling to be the chosen one. The gang can now live their lives like ordinary (non-slayer) people without the burden of saving the world every week. She get's to become the person she is meant to be. Heck, maybe she can even have a stable relationship with someone...who isn't dead.
