Sara is on vacation in Japan for two weeks, leaving me with the run of the house. So far that means doing everything the same as I did while she was here, it just all goes on more quietly. One of my main goals is to leave the house in pristine shape when I go to a tournament next weekend, which is roughly she will return. I aspire to be a different type of bachelor.

Speaking of which, that is still a thing. I updated my profile on OKCupid a while ago, but I haven't been looking very hard for anyone. That may all change in the next few weeks. Now would be a perfect time to stumble home from a club with someone, and the only people who'd care are my upstairs neighbors. They can be the ones who deal with excess noise for a change. It's common knowledge that when you are not looking for something, something falls in your lap. That may be true, but it's also true that if you are not aware of thing around you, then you miss on opportunities. Drinking too much can blind you to clues and invitations. Focusing on other people too hard blinds you from seeing those who watch you. It's something that bears putting into action as I go on my evening adventures. Not "looking for something", just cultivating "situational awareness".

The new car continues to be awesome.

Work is sending me to a computer conference in Las Vegas at the end of April. I suspect it will be significantly more exciting than my trip to Tamp. If not, I will make it so.
