September came and went. The stand out events of the past month include going to a GT and helping a friend celebrate a birthday. The Crossroads GT was a disappointment dicewise, but a win on the fun side. I was doing reasonably well until game 4, where everything that could go wrong did. What's significant about this game was I was able to roll with the punches and finish off the game in good spirits. A win in the last game against a very chill opponent help end things on a good note. I'd call that progress.
My friend Juliet had a birthday, and after being on the fence a bit I dressed up and headed out. Tony rented a room at the Limelight for kareoke, and they had cool tablets for queuing up your songs. I ended up singing quite a bit (Bon Jovi, Depeche Mode, Poison, and Smashing Pumpkins) and got many compliments on my singing. After that I drove Michael and Sarah (Juliet's friend) over to Machine for the last hour of the night. It was a small but enthusiastic crowd, and I had a great time talking and dancing with Sarah. Afterwards I drove her back to Tony's and surprised everyone with some steaks for a delicious after party extra.
Made it out to Excess last night; a workout prior to it helped put me in a good mood, and the music and friends helped with that. When I left that night, I ended with the number of a friend of a friend from Seattle who's in town for the weekend. Perhaps she'll want to go to Xmorts on Friday.
