Don't upset the apple cart
Mar. 27th, 2012 04:58 pmThe Hunger Games were a great way to start off my weekend. My Mom taught 6th grade English, and passed books on to me. I can't believe how dark the books are, and couldn't put them down. It would be futile for me to give an honest review of the movie, I will just say that it stayed very true to the books, could have had a little more edge to it, and involved less shaky cam. I was home only briefly to dine on sushi and head back out to meet Richard for drinks in the Middle East. It was a long overdue event, and even the snarky patrons on the table next to us couldn't dampen our enthusiastic night.
Saturday I attended a birthday party, and engagement party. Two different crowds, two different flavors. Both were enjoyable in their own way.
Sunday I tested out a new list idea, a bunch of my friends wanted to bring radically different army lists to the big GT this weekend. My list lost three games in a row, the change in style is too radically different than what I've been working on the past year to risk a ruinous weekend, so it's back to the list I've been working on. I've had losing records so far at all the big events, time to turn that around.
While my moods in generally have been on quite a high the past few weeks, work in general is becoming very tedious and hard to engage in. Time to spend a little time seeing what I can do to kick start my brain again.
