Near misses and long pauses
Jul. 11th, 2011 05:18 pmXmortis started out slow and bereft of many familiar faces. The night got better and better, musically and people-wise. I shot some pool with Sara, danced, meet some new people, and exchanged some Serious Glances and Compliments with cute dancers. Saturday I took some extra time to recover, before rounding up supplies for a Warhammer cookout. The turnout was small, but everyone got a couple of games in to start our summer league, and all the games were very entertaining. I also picked up a lot of figures on the cheap from one of my club mates. My pile of painting projects is becoming ridiculous. Sunday I started assembling and priming my new acquisitions, with the Boondocks on in the background. I took a break for DND. We started very late, since many folks were in the middle of traveling, and then spent most of the game stunned (unable to do anything). So it goes, at times.
Today is long and grueling, tons of calls, orchestrating tickets for Fantasia (sooo many awesome films this year), and there is still Spinjam and Ceremony to come. Spinjam may just consist of me lying on the grass and taking a nap.
The Ard Boyz finals are this weekend, but I'm strongly leaning against going to them. Driving all the way to Philly for a filth fest doensn't quite seem like a good time. Driving to Machine for some saucy dancing? A little more fun ;)
