Unexpected After Party
Jun. 28th, 2011 03:38 pmPlanning ahead paid off, I returned to Spin Jam for the first time in months. It was a nicely chill time. I worked on my rope dark and torches, and realized how much dart I'd forgotten. There were some chill conversations, and lounging in the thick grass. I wanted to give Ceremony a try to make up for my less than stellar week last time. This meant no dinner after Spin Jam this week. Sleep was pushing at me pretty hard, but I denided it and made it to the club.
Lisa (the bartender from Machine) was out with Brianna, they pulled me into a booth for conversation and general revelry. I ended up telling her a lot about my San Francisco trip, and gave her a list of places to go and see. Occasionally I worked some dancing in. Later I saw Douglas and Alexandra arrive. On my way to say hello, I bumped into another girl going to do the same thing. Thus begin the conversation that caused me to abandon my plan of leaving early. Nicole was from Providence, and worked in the IT department for a Catholic university. By the time Douglas finished his conversation, he'd assumed that Nicole and I were long time friends! She's also a fan of olden industrial music, and is not afraid to dance. The dancing continued when Lisa and Brianna dragged me to the after party at the Attic, where Daisy made me whipped cream vodka drinks and Nicole, Douglas, and Jen also showed up to dance. There were many good bye hugs, and I shot home to sleep.
Today, I am paying for my late night. Perhaps I'll run into Nicole again, she found Ceremony much less sketchy than Hell, and I tried selling on the other weekend events. We shall see what the future holds. In other unexpected news, my folks will be coming to visit over the holiday weekend. There will be more lobster in my future!
