late on the recap.
Sep. 25th, 2007 02:34 pmNight of the Dolls had a good first night. I like this sign of collaboration between different promotional groups. It's good to see an example of people working together, instead of stabbing each other in the back. The Scene is also growing back to the point where there is something to do each weeknight, and each weekend. We almost have an excess of choices, which will just encourage everyone to do their best and not rest on their laurels. This is a good thing.
The dancing and drinking were fun, as was the tasty food at the after party, but it all caught up to me around five and getting home became the priority. Despite the slight hangover, I mustered up two back to back victories in Warhammer, putting to rest any doubts I had about the upcoming tournament this weekend. I started the night with a housewarming/birthday party, during which I had a fabulous, relaxed time. There was a second party in the making, but I decided to show some restraint and went to bed.
Sunday brought on my timely arrival (for a chance) to our DND game, where we have a truly grueling encounter on a steamy jungle island. We persevered, even though the game ran over time. It was a real nail biter up to the very end, and quite possibly the longest single battle of my career. Hopefully the hard work on that island is done now!
Monday I slept in, and cleaned up around the house. There was Angel viewing, and then Transformers in the Imax. Robots still cool (if a little blurry), humans still annoying (as was the little robot). My cold was starting to kick in, which rendered me more subdued than usual.
The cold is still sticking around today, so I'm bombarding it with vitamins and water. The cold is also doing a number on my mood, but that presents a little challenge or game. Recognize that it's the cold influencing your mood, realize that things which normally wouldn't bug you are doing so now only because your are sick. As you health increases, so will your mood.
Looks like a fairly early night for me. I would like to be social a bit more before my trip, but only if I'm healthy.
