Fits and Starts: a week in review
Sep. 11th, 2007 01:08 pmThe dull tedium of work stretched on and on, interrupted by a relaxing game at Forest's house Thursday night. The night after I introduced him to 300, and the the Teich family joined us as well. I did a very small amount of dancing in the hot and sweaty heart of TT's, but a large amount of talking and laughing. Smiles and hugs flowed like wine, and contined well on into the morning, before I finally meandered back to the welcoming firmness of my bed.
Saturday was regrettable. Some players have mastered the art of HungoverHammer, but I have not. Forget dice and other excuses, I made bad mistake after bad mistake, and the less said about the event, the better. I came in dead last, and worst sportsman to boot. I only add those details, because Saturday evening was as awesome a time as the afternoon was not. The details probably deserve their own entry, but I went to a Masquerade Ball that was a fund raiser for a dance company. It was held in a very off-beat house, with tons of new faces (and some old), great food and booze, good music, and very welcoming company. It was a totally PG evening, but one of the best parties I've been to all year.
Sunday: Glorious downtime, and the continuation of our pirate game. It continues to go well, though we are a bit under equipped to deal with certain menaces in the world. I have to ask: why would a wizard/cleric go through the trouble of making a golem that's immune to almost all magic? Who creates something that they have no control over? Stupid wizards.
Monday: Down down downy mcDownpants. I hoped some poi and Ceremony would put things right, but the Red Sox put a stop to that. No parking for poi, starting to freak out from low blood sugar. Dinner fixed the sugar problem, but food coma overcame the desire to dance. Add some lucid dream nightmares, and some more regular nightmares and that brings us to.
today! Patriot Day! Anything political will be better said by other people, so you'll get none of that here. Just make a little extra effort to be nice, courteous, and helpful today.
