time... is... crawling...
Mar. 23rd, 2007 04:24 pmThere should be a lot of fun things to do this weekend. The problem is there are many hours inbetween me and these fun things. The biggest hour is the one right in front of me, and it refuses to end!
Yeah, it's been a slow day.
Cutting back on the size of my lunches has done amazing things to my overall alertness. The midday food crashes has pretty much vanished. Wanting to fall asleep when I should be working was doing drastic things to my mood and temper. Nice to see that out of the way.
I was reading a review of 300, where they mentioned how the Persians were represented by all the freaks (monsters, piercings, deviant sexuality) and the Spartans were the status quo (physically perfect, clean cut, upright). They drew a parallel to X3: the last stand. Magneto's gang of mutants were all marked, pierced, all Gothed out in comparison to the X-Men. At the time the association between looking wierd and being evil was suprising and compelling. Then I sat back a few days later and though "um, people have been doing this since, oh, FOREVER". So much for profound thought.
