brief notes from Tampa
Feb. 6th, 2007 12:54 amThe weekend was indeed chalked full of fun. I learned about a new kind of Paine when I braved the frozen roads to Lowell on Friday. Saturday night was lit by candles, and Blue Monday's were experimented with to varying degrees of tastiness. The company was very good, as was the food at Soundbites the next morning. Mmmmm Tuscan omelettes.
The omelettes paled in comparison to my first trip to Dali's Sunday night. My god what excellent food, and very good sangria to boot. I definitely forsee more trips to Dali's in the future.
Today was much more stressful. I packed, fought with the printer at work for my flight information, and made it to the airport in plenty of time. Had lunch, boarded the flight, and was faced with a mechanical failure that delayed my flight four hours! They gave us a a voucher for food (which I lost). I also lost my folder with my hotel information on it, and some other materials I needed for the conference. These were minor hurdles, and quickly overcome once I actually arrived in Tampa. I logged into my work email, downloaded the necessary information, and made my way to the hotel.
Hooray for complimentary Internet access! Time to finish writing, take a nice warm shower, and get to sleep. Training begins tomorrow, and perhaps I can explore some of the territory around the hotel.
