I hold the Bronze for croquet
Jul. 4th, 2005 10:18 pmI did miss out on getting my tasty lobster at the lobster shack. But I did have lots of other tasty food, and contributed more sangria to the party. I had to use two different wines this time, as my usual ingredient was out of stock. The contained kept emptying, so it seemed to go over well. I was still tired most of the day, so I was content to watch other people talk. Feet up in the fighter pilot chairs, slapping at mosquitoes, enjoying my freedom and liberty on the day set aside to remember it. How free are we now? How free were we ever? The higher ideals may look a little tarnished and dull, but if you shine them up a little, you can still see a little something to be proud of, whatever your views of our country today.
Happy Independence Day.
