Three cool things about yesterday

Coolness the first: After sitting down on the T, a man in leather jacket leaned over and asked me if The Phoenix Guards the book I was reading, was any good. I told him yes, if you liked someone spinning a fantasy yarn in the style of Alexander Dumas. He did. His friends recommended he read this next, as he had just finished To Reign in Hell (a fabulous book, which I must replace in my collection and soon). We chatting a bit about the series, then returned to our reading.

Coolness the second: Thanks to the wonderful ms_entropy, I have a ticket to the "almost finished" Serenity movie next week. I'm looking forward to then showing a fight scene in space with black cards showing up saying "big ass explosion" or "the space station exploded in a way that you will really appreciated a few months from now". That was be awesome.

Coolness the third: Hungry Lucy. The show was very enjoyable, I had not heard them before. It was a damn shame the show was so poorly attended. I didn't get to hear Bloodwire, but I haven't heard anything bad about them either. I was able to stomp around in the from room again, which apparently is going to be open again. No word on who will be spinning there yet.

There you have it. The peak of the week was magnificent. The downward slope to the weekend should be a rush.
