Dancing and Dicing, third edition
Feb. 1st, 2005 12:45 pmMore good dancing on Friday, getting to know some of the new dancers with FF, and general bonding over Women Who Was Way Too Drunk. Friday also saw our gaming group kick into gear with our first adventure, and our two new players.
Saturday I managed to pull a win, draw, and loss in a local Warhammer tournament. I was pretty pleased with the overall results, though I think one of the local players is my kryptonite: catastrophic dice failure occurs when his shadow crosses my table. Saturday night saw a nice reprieve from the gaming with some drinking, Chinese foold, a room full of laughing people, and the Boondock Saints.
Sunday, back to Danger Planet for another league game (40k this time) where I pulled out my first win of the league. I think I stand a good chance of making the finals actually, should my dice... behave. Mine was one of the best painted last time around.
Monday was the return to the routine of work, and of the gym, which really pushed me. I rode the endorphin high through dinner, and made arrangements to meet my aunt before driving down to Pa. for my sister's wedding this Saturday. I called her up and wished a happy birthday to her nephew, one of my goals for the year is to get in touch with my many nephews and nieces more often. Following that, I actually made it out to Ceremony where I was greeted my friendly faces both old and new. The evening started to wane towards it's usual dark end, but through force of will and a choice last song, I ended the night on a good note. There must have been a dozen dancing dervishes on the dancefloor for my last song. It's a pleasure and a thrill to share the floor with so many fluid, fabulous, (dare I say delicious?) dancers.
