Los(t)/er Weekend
Sep. 8th, 2003 12:05 pmFriday night was spent in low candlelight, celebrating the birthday of a dear friend. After leaving, I was in the mood to dance, so my journey took me to the Devil Doll night at ManRay. I can't quite recall if I actually danced that much, but I do remember having a good evening.
Saturday's start was unexpected, then turned rather dull and unsatisfactory due to a lackluster gaming event.
The evening ended on a cautiously upbeat note due to fine Indian food and tough conversation. I enjoy our dinner conversations because she has a way of cutting through my thoughts and exposing the heart of the issue. The hard side is that I often come out looking like an ass. The knowledge and the insight is worth the pain. In the end, her opinion is just another opinion. It has as much weight as I give it.
Rather than dwell on the waste of Sunday, I will highlight the surprisingly entertaining Burlesque show I attended Sunday night. Overall I think it could use a bit of polish, but the high points of the evening were Little Red Coquette and La Belle Margeaux. They were spot on with the music, confident in their moves, moved with excellent pacing, and, well, they're gorgeous!
