Nov. 4th, 2002

I've been plagued with computer problems ever since I was laid off. I've had connectivity issues, problems with Outlook, and now I can't copy my old hard drive to the new one, even after I've scanned it and checked for errors.
Perhaps I'll look through the disks we have in the house and just add an OS to the 20 gb drive, and rebuild things from scratch. At least I have the original drive up and running, and all the old data transferred to the new 40 gb drive.

There were some other minor maudlin concerns, but those have been shelved until later. There's important work to be done.
That last one just wasn't cutting it. The one you won't get to see.

Today was a hell of computer problems again. In the course of 4-5 hours I almost lost my entire system board, several hard drives, many gigs of data, and discovered over 70% of the floppy disks I have are crap. As a testament to my patience, only one disk sailed across the room to explode on the wall. But the anger was there, simmering all day.

Often I find that when faced with such problems, I cling to them with pitbullish tenacity.
I shake and worry the problem with my teeth because by God this will work out for me! For some people, that works out. In my case it usually ends with twenty seven pieces of the problem scattered over my floor and me screaming into a pillow.

Today I decided to focus on a different problem. I'm waiting for the right tools to be delivered to my by a coolfriend with another one who's just a phone call away. Now I've stripped the bed, laid out some boards, and will proceed to put all the crap in my room on the bed, so I can organize it, store it, and generally get the clutter out of the way.

Usually being Lawful Good is really lame. Today it is a blessing
