And then it ended.
Apr. 16th, 2002 04:38 pmI wrapped up my stint as Prince of Seattle in this year's incarnation of the VHS. A lot has been said about the year, and I am not going to add to it. Let's just say that after a shaky middle for me, I started having fun again and finished the game with an exhausted smile. I didn't die, I achieved my goals, and I had fun.
Sunday was given over mostly to an epic game of 40k, one that ran longer than I thought and left me unable to attend a birthday dinner. *hangs head. But it was still a good day. Monday I spent the majority of the day cleaning the house, including the back and front porch, and getting ingerdients for the first sangria of the year and the first cookout. Let's call it a test run, to see if the grill functioned. There were only a handful of people who could make it, but that was all well and good. The grill worked, the sangria was tasty (and potent!) and fun was had by all. The day wrapped up with an excellent episode of Angel. I'll say no more about it, as some people haven't seen it, but it was damn good writing.
This would have been a lot more indepth, but most details and nuance fall through the cracks in my memory. The important details do get left behind, and they are what end up captured in my entry. That over the course of three days, I had three different experiences, and all of them were a good time.
Did I say three? I meant four! I almost neglected to mention the lovely Vaudville extravaganza I attended at 2 in the morning. I was fashionably late and fashionably dressed, and there were still plenty of smiling, happy, drunked faces around. I reacquainted myself with some old 80's metal (and unfortunately, bell bib divoe, or how ever the hell you spell it) and finally crashed at home around four.
And there you have it, all the news that's fit to print. Today was a very peaceful day at work, no looming projects, no looming users. And to top it all off, there's a wondefully sunny world outside my window. Soon I'll be home, where grilled burgers and sangria and Buffy await me.
Life is good. I repeat, life is good.
