Even when your brain feels like mush, or you feel tired, or just don't feel like. You have to work your Muse, talk with her, make love to her. Or him, if that's your choice.
You have to listen and be open to her too. She is a Muse, after all, not a punching bag. Don't treat her like Calliope (for all you Sandman fans out there). Writing is a give and take, ebb and flow.
Even this little bit helped the water flow. I want to make more of an effort to write, and I can and will do so. Not because of an outside audience, but for me. For the stories I have to share, and the honing of my craft.
