More joyous news from my hometown, courtesy of the Metro.

MAYOR'S ARREST DRAWS NEO-NAZI SUPPORTERS - York's mayor Charlie Robertson, who was arrested in connection to the murder of a black woman in 1969 race riots, has drawn support from the neo-Nazi group National Alliance, which vandalized York this weekend with hundreds of stickers with white power slogans on them, the New York Times reported.

I never thought of York as being an especially racially charged area. No more so than any small city in a mainly rural state. And yet we have a racist who briefly became mayor, and now neo-Nazis are coming out of the woodwork and promoting white power. If I were on TV, I'd probably make some innane comment like "This is such a quiet place, nothing like that ever happens here..." except I know better. I've known friends of the family who flipped out and carved people up on the street. A crackhouse was busted that operated RIGHT NEXT to my Mom's grade school. There are some places that are safer than others, but never Never let yourself think that "bad things can't happen here."

unfortunately..

Pennsylvania, though it's very pretty and all, is a hotbed of neo-Nazism. Though I think the areas near where I grew up were worse than York.

And militia groups apparantly. I've only ever been in the major cities, and State College. That leaves a LOT of small towns with even smaller minds..... bleh.

I just don't have enough bullets. And your arm grows tired eventually. Just wait until I get those cybernetic implants!
