Sleep almost had me in it's clutches. It tugged at my shoulders with soft hands and bathed my neck with cool breath. Stay at home, it's late. Go to be early, do laundry. Be responsible... but I decided against it, after perusing some of Punketta's set lists. So it's on with the skirt and convergence t shirt and the Underworld boots, and off to Ceremony to baptize the boots on the dance floor for the first time.

It was going to be a night of no drinking, just water to refresh me between songs. After two songs, I knew I would need some boozy goodness to keep me from wincing. I've worn the boots out for a few nights, but now I was asking a lot more out of them. They were bending in new places, sharpened folds that pushed and pinched me. A few LI Iced Teas later and I was in full form.
Bathory and Punketta were surprisingly good last night. Bathory isn't usual my cup of tea, but she was cueing up some great songs. I got to swirl around to Nick Cave and the Cure, and then absolutely tear things up with 1000 Homo DJ's of all things!
Punketta rose to the challenge by dishing up some old Velvet Acid Christ, and remixed Funker Vogt and the Invader Zim song remixed for dance floor consumption.

I think I'm going to spend less time writing about work, and more about club nights, and gatherings, and adventures. A conversation I had last night reminded me that we all trudge through our day, so that we can live at night. For the vast majority of us, work is an unpleasant and spirit crushing experience. But once we shut down our computers, close our books, and travel home... that's when our lives begin.
