jchrisobrienChalk up another nice weekend. Our cookout went off w/out a hitch. There was a nice blend of people from a mailing list I'm on, friends of mine from BU, and a few others strewn about. The new grill was admired, MUCH sangria was drunk (oooh, my), and a good time was had. My bed has never had so many people on it!
Cookout are always a blur to me, I tend to be a whirlwind of motion cooking, running from room to room, never staying in one place, and therefore it's hard to have solid impressions or conversations with people. Perhaps next time I will perch in my room and wait a spell before moving onward. But then again, the nature of a party is motion.
We almost had a swell thunderstorm, but the rain never really came. A branch was blown down into the street, which I promptly lugged out of the way. It's still gracing the sidewalk where I left it on Saturday.
Sunday was spent getting slaughtered by Tyler's Chaos army at Phoenix. Playing with a hangover is a little uncomfortable, but it also keeps you from losing your temper too much. It's been happening a bit latel in Jyhad and Warhammer. Too much time spent playing with underdog armies, trying to get a win with them. I think it's time to be a little more ruthless in my deck and army construction. Once I get a few wins, then I can go back to tilting at windmills.
This week I'm at class for Windows 2000 training. I have to be there at 8, but get to leave at 3, 3:30. Pretty sweet! Especially tomorrow, when I'll play some tennis with Sarah and then watch Buffy and Angel. One more week and then it's all over! And another passion is put aside. I need more passion in my life.
