It's not any one particular picture, but the idea struck me when I looked at Nick's party pics.
I like looking at the people in the background of the photo's, the ones who don't know they are being photographed. Their expressions aren't posed or ready, they are caught in the instant of doing whatever they were doing. Sneering, rolling the eys, gesturing wildly, eyes darting around as they try to extract themselves from a conversation.

I was going to make a comment about the camera's soul stealing powers.

But now that there are so many digital cameras, it would be like having your soul in a machine... which is so cyber!

i'm going brigid's route and developing a picture face. i'm tired of having stupid faces in photographs, background or foreground. from now on, at all parties, i will be wearing my picture face all the time, just in case.
