No entry since Thanksgiving? Sheesh.

The Orphan's Thanksgiving Ritual Sacrifice was a big hit. The food turned out great again, and I had a large and diverse crew attending. Highlights include an early arrival by Lisa in full Japanese Gothic Lolita attire, a who-can-make-the-vilest-concoction-with-alcoholic-whipped-cream by Lisa and Michael, the surprise appearance of Bianca and Shae, and the group showing of Cabin in the Woods. A great time was had by all.

Temple was a not-so-great time, but more about that later.

I was invited to a tree-trimming / cartoon watching party by Shae, and ran into a number of other familiar faces from the fire spinning crew. Most of the folks were new, and involved in the Slutcracker in some way, shape, or form. It was a chill evening, and I felt pretty comfortable there. Getting a really awesome hug didn't hurt things either. When the next morning rolled around, a person who I send a friend's request to weeks ago decided to add me, after chatting briefly at the party. Progress, slow but steady.

I've made enough progress on my Tomb Kings to start bringing them to tournaments, and am getting another army up to speed to break up the monotony of painting skeletons. I still have plenty of things to work on through the winter. My hobby enthusiasm remains high, more positive than ever. Most of my friends appear to be in a bit of a slump. Hopefully that will pick up again once ETC season kicks into high gear.

Last weekend was a utter whirlwind of activity: dinner and a movie with Forest and Vanessa, followed by Jive. Birthday brunch for Stephanie, a massage, a birthday party for Ben, gaming on Sunday, and a birthday dinner at Dali's for Sara. I got a great welcome from people at Jive, and overcame some initial awkwardness at Ben's party to have a good time. Ellen and I had a good time making pizzas and chatting in the kitchen. Did you know Ben had a sister? Yeah, I didn't either! My paladin survived being surrounded on all sides by a horde of monsters by channeling her inner Christian Bale (Equilibrium! Gunkata!), and my roommate is now in possession of a porron, which means that New Year's Eve is about to get messier for everyone.

Life marches on! See you in three weeks?

That's like a snobby wine-nerd version of a funnel right ;)

at the birthday party, I was kidding that it was like a Dex-challenged version of keg standing but much more elegant. Still, good fun.

Where I was in Northern Spain, it was the way polite people shared a bottle of wine at the table (away from the table, you'd use a bota). You do not touch the spout with your mouth.

For a real challenge, use it to drink champagne.

That's what we were doing at the dinner, and what we'll be doing at New Year's Eve too! :)

It achieves the same effect (ie what your drinking all over you) but you only need one hand!
