Tactical Withdrawal

Ceremony's 15th anniversary was completely off the hook, chock full of costume madness and pounding beats. Mike Saga was a bit too Pro DJ for our crowd, but it was a great set. With another tournament coming up, I'm starting to shift into heavy painting mode. Much of last weekend was taken up with that, though I did take time on Friday for a costume party. Captain Tightpants rides again!

Last night I made to Spin Jam for the first time in a while. It was great seeing people, but less great seeing a potential interest being hit on by a guy who already has two girlfriends. Combine that with an ominous Tarot reading, over loud speakers at Ceremony, and a horde of Eagles fans in the front room, and the night was pretty much shot. I beat an early retreat and hit the sack.

Some days I really miss being a conservative Roman Catholic.

Good to see you and your long brown coat the other night; sorry that your Monday made you retreat. But knowing when not to stick around and get more upset at things you can't control is wisdom that many of us lack.

While I'm sorry I let things get to me at Spin Jam, I was conscious of fighting against those feelings. I definitely made the right move. Hooray for wisdom!

I had gone to An Tua Nua for supper on Monday, and was going to stick around to read/chat but the football fans drove me out before 9pm even rolled around. :/
I wish I could have made it to the post-halloween costume party, it sounds like it was a lot of fun!

Yeah, they were not a quiet bunch! Sara called it quits early too.
I hope you're feeling better, that's what counts. I must say that even with a largely different demographic (lots of burners) it was a swell time by the end of the night!
