Apple time

I just started a new tradition at work. I'm taking my apple and going outside to eat it for the rest of the summer. Smokers go outside all the time during the day, why don't I? It was a glorious day to start my new tradition. I felt relaxed and at peace, kissed by the sun, the fresh sweet tang of the apple's flesh in my mouth. This is a tradition I can get behind.

Minutes later I'm working on a ticket, and I hear a conversation in my boss's office. He's talking with the VP of construction. The VP has admin rights on his laptop, and this is the third time he's brought it back to us because it stopped working. Their voices were hushed, but still carried. The VP was anxious for his laptop, but it was dead in the water. "There are programs on here I've never seen before," said my boss with thinly veiled exasperation. "Some of these programs I can't even remove." The VP was surprised to see these strange programs, and begged my boss not to lock his access down. "Give me time to fix it," he wheedled.

This is why you can't have nice things, I thought to myself. Then I fired up Semagic and began to write.

Ha. People who have admin rights on the work computer need to be SMART about what they add on! I installed firefox and semagic, and that's all I need to kill time on a slow work day.

The VP should also probably not let his kids play on his work laptop, hahahahaaha.

This is the same user who dropped off his laptop because it was running slow, about two years ago.

When I checked it, the hard drive was 99% full, mostly with .mp3's and the ENTIRE Full Metal Jacket movie.

I bet he uses the CD drive as a drink holder.
