Shut up where I am glad to see you!

Last night I watched "The Island of Lost Souls" with a small circle of friends. The movie itself was pretty good, but it was a Danish film translated by some random person who did a really, really poor job of it. The above title is a funny example of the verbal jambalaya we were subject to. Other funny moments were "Bound!" instead of "Run!", "Mix around you, Herman", and instead of saying "I can't believe it" they said "This is a lie!" I look forward to sneaking these little gems into conversation somewhere.

The gaming store I've been playing at practically evey week for the past seven years is closing. Danger Planet's lease is not being renewed, and the owner is gong to ground until the economy picks up again. He's keeping all the gaming tables and vows to repoen, but the owner of ManRay said the same thing. (He didn't keep the gaming tables, that should have been my tip off).

Today's been a roller coaster of emotions. Rather than dwell on them , I'm going to finish out the end of the day and get back outside. The fresh spring air has amazing restorative properties.

Ouch...really sorry to hear that DP is closing. That was a damn fine store run by a really nice guy. :(

Rumors aboud whether it will re-open or not.
At least the message board is supposed to stay open, for game co-ordination and the like.

I translated "Bound!" as "Jump!", but "Run!" works as well. :)
The random subtitles were like getting a free Danish lesson along with our movie. :)

It added that extra layer of hilarity. I really want to go back and edit the text file, and watch it again :)
