jchrisobrien: (big trouble!)

Ice -1, Silas7 - 0

Underworld rocked my socks right off.  My vibe was more social and a bit less groovy, but not by much!  It appears my latest interest is unrequited.  It appears I made a few new friends.  I'd call that a wash.

Sunday I learned buying wood for shelves is more expensive than I figured.  Also, people drive like madmen in parking lots.  It was worth it, for now I have a second guitar controller.  Our house is ready to Rock to the max!  Diamondsea, Sara and I proceeded to do so, playing for about three hours.  You haven't lived until you've heard my roommate sing "So What'cha Want?"

Sex and Breakfast was far more boring that a movie with that title should be.  The male leads were spineless and a raging asshole (seriously, what guy flips out because his girlfriend has a lesbian fantasy?)  The things I put up with to watch Eliza Dushku in a movie.  It's criminal, I tell you.

The treachery of ice knows no bounds, observes no borders.  It tried to get me as I left the house this morning, but I skillfully recovered.  Little did I know that it was merely lulling me into a false sense of security, so that I could strike again and lay me flat out on my back!  I contemplated the gray sky above and hoped I didn't do anything to my spine (again). There's a big bruise on my back and the back of my head is sore from when I cracked it, but so far everything is cool.

Curse you, ice.  I will have my sweet solar revenge!

For the ice

Yak Trax?

Sounds like a lot of people are falling victim to the ice today.

Those look pretty awesome!

Buying a set of boots or yax for the snow will be a priority when my next paycheck arrives.

The ice was crazy this morning! Last night I thought I would walk to the T this morning, but hell no, I was lucky to slide to the bus stop unscathed!

I left early enough to wait for the T this time around. I hope my roommate made it to work OK...

May we have a safer time on our way home!

I saw your roommate waiting for the 77 bus as my 79 went by, so I know she made it at least as far as the bus stop okay ;-)

It is evil, and must be destroyed. *looks up at the sun Get to work!

Glad you didn't do any major damage. The ice nearly got me this morning, too.

I'm not sure abou the flexibility yet. I've done some stretching at work. I'll play with the staff a bit at home and see if I'm in shape for spin jam tonight.

I slipped several times on icy sidewalks this morning but managed to remain upright. I'm glad you weren't too badly hurt, and may that bruise heal quickly.

Underworld was indeed a rockin good time.

I took grim satisfaction in seeing all the ice melting the next day.
Down with Tempo was pretty nice too! You really had your dance on.

[identity profile] cris.livejournal.com 2009-01-05 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, the icy sidewalks were not making me happy on my way out ... thankfully, the roads themselves weren't that slick.

Hope you heal quickly

... I swear, your story of how Clay broke his arm falling off the steps in Hamilton St. still haunts me every time I stop outside on an icy front stoop

[identity profile] silentq.livejournal.com 2009-01-06 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, dealing with the icy front stoop at 5am this morning was *not* *fun*. The taxi was sliding around a bit on the side streets but then we pulled in behind a salt truck and all was okay. :)

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Even with the traffic on the roads, I would have rather walked there than on those sidewalks. There was no salt down at all!

There must be a better way of getting metal grafted to your bones than the one Clay chose...

Ugh! Glad you are mostly (?) ok.

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Just a bit sore, still. Sara confirmed there's barely any bruising.
*grabs another handful of Advil.

Hope you two are being careful as well!

Hey! No cracking your skull open dude! *HUGS* Glad to hear you're still in one piece. Did it knock any sense into you or out of you? LOL

[identity profile] silas7.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I'm about dead even for senses! Though the back of my neck and my bum are still pretty achey.

Heh. Bum. What a fun word!

I do have netflix, it's been so useful catching up on films I missed in the theater, and those I see at horror festivals. If you like insightful scary movies, check out "The Signal" (on netflix). It's an extremely well done movie on a low budget.

Sex and Breafast is very dull. It was almost worth it for Eliza Dushku, but I can always watch episodes of Buffy if I want to see her. :)
