gym update

Sucks.

My left arm is weaker than ever. I can't even bench 40 lbs with it (I was at 70 before). What makes even less sense is that my left chest is much more developed than my right, but I'm lifting more weight with my right arm. MADNESS!

The elliptical? hateithateithateit. I can't do interval running with it, and the entire motion of it is incredibly awkward. I need to do some kind of cardio though. Hell with it, I'm going back to the treadmill.

Now, if you'll excuse me, Im off to ice down. Grrrr.

I hate ellipticals, too! but then, treadmills bore me even more. I've actually lost track of time on an elliptical, but I watch the time obsessively on a treadmill.

I'm going to experiment with zone trainig. I go back for more PT next week, and I'll keep asking when I can try running again. I love my interval trainig!

If I had a bike, I would. The key is to not get frustrated right away, and remember that these are all temporary until I can start running again.

sometimes you get a bit weaker before you get stronger because you are now using the right muscles. i used to be able to lift 30lbs but i was using all the wrong muscles. now that my posture has been corrected (sort of) i can only life about 15lbs-20lbs on a good day. don't get frustrated and don't sabotage your program. stick with it and it will surely and gradually improve.

sorry i was so spacy when i saw you last. i was actually really sick that day and needed to be in bed but couldn't because there was no one to cover my patients :(

I'll just cope with what I can do, and tryto build back up. Can I lift different weights with different arms? I'll try to do more icing too. When I get pain in my arms, should I ice the spots that hurt, or should I ice the area in my neck around the disc?
