jchrisobrien: (getting ready)

Turbulence

After several phone calls without a reply, I contacted my doctor's office and vented a bit.  It turns out they do have a record of all my phone calls, but haven't been adept at keeping me informed of this.  I contacted Spaulding rehab hospital, and they will talk with my doctor and get a PT appointment set up.  I passed on the gym last night, as my arm was acting up.  For the second night in a row I didn't eat until late, and was inordinately cranky as a result.  You'd think I'd learn by now.  If I work out, I risk exacerbating the injury.  If I don't work out, I get lumpy and despondent.

My dreams are extraordinary vivid lately, and not fit for printing.  All I can tell you is that one involve vampires in Vegas, and the other involved a rave in a park in the middle of a city.

Despite the mental turbulence gripping me today, there are some good things to think about this week.

Monday, I learned a new move with the staff and was socially on at Ceremony.
Wednesday, I had sushi for the first time in a while.
Today, I didn't wear a sweater and almost broke a sweat walking to work.  Spring is rushing upon us!

This afternoon, I will ready the details for my Deadlands game.

Spring is rushing upon us!

I know it makes me sad, spring can really get you down the most

I can see that. There's a lot that can let you down in spring, but I'm focusing on the positive of "Oh my god it's warm out and I don't have to pay ludicrous heating bills for months!" That alone will keep me happy for a good two months. ;)

You were definitely socially on at Ceremony. You are one of the people that made it a fun night for me -- thank-you again. :)

I've been grumpy this week because I was going to start going to the gym this week, but... my toe.. What happened to your arm?

Are you going to Xmortis tomorrow?

My pleasure!

I'm not exactly sure what happened: a pulled muscle, sleeping on it wrong, bad posture when typing. I get feelings of pressure in my shoulder, tricep, forearm, and wrist. It's probably all connected in some way. Friday I may say to hell with it and go to the gym before Xmortis, which I will be attending!

How much is your arm affecting non-arm exercises? Can you get on a treadmill or elliptical machine or exercise bike? Getting some of that sort of cardio work in could help get the juices and endorphins going to keep your mood up while you wait for your arm to heal.

my dreams have also been very vivid this last week and the last few nights have been either disturbing or just uncomfortable. i've enough uncomfortableness in my life, i don't need it in my dreams, too! heh.
