On the other side

Sin-O-Matic was a bit more frenetic that usual.  I did not lose the plot on the dance floor, but I did change costumes.  The evening ended up being a little more voyeuristic and less interactive than normal, but that's all well and good.  I made it to an after party, which features the longest cooking tater tots ever.  I swear they just wouldn't crisp!

Sunday was completely and utterly given over to reading Harry Potter.  I did read out on our back porch, so I got some sunshine.  No dice were rolled this weekend.

I think I"m suffering from a little post Potter depression.  No spoilers, just that feeling that "everything that has a beginning, has an end."  This end is finally here.  There will be other stories, and I will always look forward to returning to this one.  More in depth discussions can be had when the rest of you finish reading it!  It could also be that I'm sleep deprived after staying up til 2 to finish the book.  I did get to dream that I had a wand and knew how to use it, so bonus for that.

My open schedule could be another factor.  This past month was jammed packed with trips (Canada, Orlando) and big events.  Now it's all in the past, and I have a wide open slate.  I'm due for a little relaxation before the next big thing comes along.

LJ phrase of the week, FTW.

Good to see you Saturday! I couldn't tell where you disappeared to on the way to the dance floor.
I feel 'the sad' when stories end, too. I'm not trying to read it as fast as possible because I want to relish the feeling of looking forward to reading some more of it, but since I picked it up yesterday I have still spend every free minute with my face in it.

I was probably lost in the sea of bodies, there were so many of them that night! Good to see you too.

I'll likely re-read it again sometime soon, to relish everything.

Sounds a lot like life, except maybe, for the part about returning to it.

As far as we know! I think I'm OK with my life not being quite as exciting as Harry's.

Unrelated comment:

Got your message; sorry I didn't call back. I got into a bunch of unpacking and cleaning and lost track of time. Just barely made it to the grocery store before they closed. We'll hang out sometime soon though - I promise!

every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end

i wonder what the author is going to do now? can't imagine she'll retire from writing.

i've not read any of the books, but do want to. i'm not a omg spoiler kinda girl though, so i look forward to when people start discussing it.

sin-o-matic was fun, but wish i'd danced more. although my back seems to think i did just enough. hehe. and what was it with those tots?!! they just wouldn't cook. methinks it was user error on the part of the myriad of cooks. doh! good seeing you there.

I'm sure she'll write something else, but if I were here I'd take a nice long vacation!

I think you'll enjoy the books.

I danced a lot, and while I remembered the evening the end of it was a blur of bodies and lights and music. I think there was a lot of "attention grabbing" going on.

i'll hopefully be getting my book tomorrow and yes i'm going to be sad to get to the end. i had that post book depression after reading mary stewart's crystal cave series where i actually mourned the death/passing of merlin.

from what i've heard, she won't write about these particular characters again although she's said she might write about this particular world again. i'm sure whatever else she writes will be as good. well i hope.

we need more fantasy in our lives. at least there are two more movies to look forward to!

I think the story of Harry Potter has been told. I'd be happy to visit the world in another way, I know there's more I wanted to see, but I'm thankful for what we were given.

Now if George R.R. Martin would get finished with his next book...
