My tastes are not your tastes

I have a certain fondness for the two Matrix sequals that is not shared by a lot of people.  People love to trash them, and sometimes with good reason.  I don't defend them as good movies, but as very interesting movies, and they are a lot of fun to talk about.  I was therefore elated to find out that Phaidros (author of the extremely well constructed reviews of "what went wrong in Episodes 1-III) is now training his cinematic eye on Matrix: Reloaded.  I spent a nice chunk of my morning reading and writing responses, and I felt razor sharp, let me tell you.  This is going to be a blast.

The Oracle did give some straight answers. She said that Morpheus would find the One, that Trinity would fall in love with the one. I think she used the "you already know the answer" line on Neo a lot because Neo hated the idea of destiny or fate. Her comments help him believe that he is the master of his fate.

The Oracle was also important as a construct of the Matrix, being a certain random element that kept the world of the Matrix closer to that of our own. There's more to come in later installments...
