Accentuate the positive

Oroya white wine is a spanish wine that was made to go with sushi.  As improbable as this might sound, it actually does.  I put  this to the test on Tuesday with pyyric as we watched "Conversations with Dead People" and "Storyteller", with an episode of House in the middle.  It went especially well with the white tuna, but you could probably drop a large rock on my foot and I wouldn't notice past the blissful feeling I get when I have white tuna.  Silentq and Nepenthe can attest to this.  I imagine pyrric could too, but I can't confirm as the room went all white and blurry for a few moments.  Must have been something I ate.

I'm not the best free-hand artist in the world, but I add a few details to my models last night: a profile of a dragon on a mage's cloak, and a down-the-gullet view of a roaring dragon on a shield.  Little touches like that can make a few points difference in a  big event, and I'm going to a big event this weekend.  All the hard work on the army is done. Instead of staying up late furiously painting and basing, I'll be hanging out with friends and getting a good night's sleep before the journey begins tomorrow.  I should really make an effort to pick up an authentic Philly cheese steak while I'm in the area.

As someone who grew up in the suburbs of Philly, there are really only two places to go, for a true authentic Philly cheese steak. Jim's Steaks, or Pat's Steaks. Both are good. I was always a little more partial to Jim's. Also? A true authentic Philly style steak has cheez-wiz on it. That's if you want to be a purist. I was never a purist about it. Provolone is the alternative to cheez-wiz at Jim's and that's what I always did. I like real cheese to much to eat that radioactive melted plastic cheese-food crud. Have fun!

when last I visited Philly, my friend took me to Pat's and, not being a native, I can't vouch for authenticity, but it was mighty tasty.

Did you order the wine with your sushi, or find it at a liquor store?
Yay, white tuna! :)

I found it at the liquor store near our house.

I have more sushi adventures from this weekend!

I need more sushi adventures in my life. :) I want to try out this place: Shino Express Sushi, it's supposed to be cheap and is near my office.
