automatic systems
I think my brain turned off sometime after nine this morning. Looking at a knot of network cables, power cables, USB cables, and spearker wires, my brain just stopped seeing everying as different parts and saw one solid mass of wires. I didn't have a knife handy to solve my Gordian problem, so I sat down and unraveled them, one by one. The occasional curse left my lips. I'm much more likely to yell at inanimate objects than people. The have not feelings to hurt, and they don't yell back (at least not yet).
This has been a longer week than normal. Twelve hour days are the norm as I move users from office to office, make trips over to a hotel near Faneuil Halll to help with IT setups for meetings. My walk took me through the Holocaust memorial. Jets of steam roll up from grates inside the huge columns of glass and names. Atmospheric as hell to walk through. That's only fitting, considering the monuments are recalling an instance of Hell on earth.
I forsee a LOT of sleeping in my future. There will be a great deal of dancing, too. If anyone is interested in having a few drinks and/or car pooling to Sin-O-Matic, drop me a call or e-mail.
