creepiness, rock stars, bad priests

Friday night I watched Silent Hill with a bunch of folks.  I enjoyed the movie, but it was fairly confusing and had some atrocious dialogue.  It made up for this with wonderful atmosphere, great music, and creepy characters.  The CGI at some points really took away from the scariness of the movie.  If you think back to Hellraiser or Hellbound, it was the physical props that made the movie so creepy.  Hellraiser really scared me, Silent Hill, not so much.  I'd definitely rent it, though.

Saturday I played against the two best members of the Lost Legion, getting a win and a loss.  The guy who beat me is using the army that I'm going to take to a convention in July, so that at least bodes well for my army choice.  Saturday night I should have eaten a little more, because I ended up Partying Like A Rock Star.  A very good time was had, so that was worth it.  I think I"m still dragging and tired from it today.  A special thanks goes out to my Guardian Angels, who saw me safely home.

Sunday, once I retrieved my car and finally ate something, we started the new chapter of our DND game with Cris at the helm.  Stolen charts, a little piracy, and a quick trip to unconsciousness for my alcoholic priest.  He's just a placeholder until I get to the character I want to play, but he's entertaining for now.

A good weekend was had.

You partied like a rock star with no damage to your vehicle :D

No damage, but not lap-age either. :(

There was some damage to my checking account, but that's the price you pay for... Partying Like A Rock Star! :)

i liked the smoldering burning things they first encountered. those were creepy cool and could very well haunt my nightmares.

The beginning was very creepy and tense, but the burning things weren't scary enough. At first they were, but once you could see them better, and see how they moved very much like computer generated things, it took me out of the moment.

That part at the end with the "nurses", was all done with real people, and was much creepier.

Still, it was good. I was telling someone lately how vampires and zombies were passe, and ghosts would be the new "cool" supernatural horror. By now, even ghosts (especially little girls) are becoming pretty common: Ring, Dark Water, the Grudge, you could also include the hologram Red Queen from Resident Evil
